I found these plans for a homemade farmhouse table on the Ana White website. It’s a sturdy-looking and rustic table that can be finished in a number of ways. In addition to a dining room table, I think it would make a great work table in a garden space.

Ana provides dimensions, a materials and tools list and a cut list. There are very detailed, step-by-step directions including drawings. It would make a terrific summertime project.

We agree with the comments at the end of this article that the coffee table and ottoman are the best ideas.  The kid’s bed is a bit creepy.  But this article is food for thought as you look for different DIY projects in your home.

I thought this was an incredibly creative coffee table made out of pallets. One side lifts up to reveal substantial storage space on the inside of the table. It folds down for everyday use. Thanks to caster wheels, the table can be easily moved.

Kathy of Petticoat Junktion shares 8 different projects that she did using Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint.

Marian is Miss Mustard Seed and she developed a line of different colors for Milk Paint.  This paint contains milk protein (casein), limestone, clay and natural pigments. When absorbed into the surface of wood, Milk Paint will never chip or peel.  However, for wood that has been treated or painted, Milk Paint can react differently.  For example, if you like an antiqued, chippy effect, you can do it with this paint.

Kathy shares the different results she had with different projects.  She also shares some tips on how to work with Milk Paint.
