  • Snacks that are healthier than candy (raisins, mints etc)
  • Giveaways to encourage creativity (pencils, stickers etc)
  • Things to play with (slinkies, Play-dough)

Alma suggests shopping around.  For example she found 125 spider rings for $3.99 at Party City.

If you want to scare the little kids and their parents who come Trick or Treating this Halloween, this is a project for you.  Shaunte of Crafts Unleashed shows you how to make a Halloween Severed Head.  There’s a supplies list and a complete tutorial with photographs.

To make the head more realistic I’d add some red accents to the severed head.  Maybe some red food coloring with the other ingredient Shaunte recommends.  Or paint some red highlights on the head and face.  Then I’d put it in a bucket of  red and yellow Fall leaves and set it on the porch.

How to Make Chalkboard/Cutting Board Pumpkins

This is a simple and fun project.  These pumpkins are cute and perfect for the Fall.  You can also reuse them year after year.  Becky of Beyond the Picket Fence made these cutting board pumpkins that she painted orange with chalkboard paint.  These are super easy to make and would make terrific presents.  They’d also probably sell well on Etsy.
