I saw this article on the Day2Day Super Mom website. It’s Marcy’s recipe and tutorial for Mediterranean Sea Salt & Honey soap. This is a melt and pour soap that uses a clear glycerin soap base. You don’t have to worry about using lye.
The tutorial is amazingly simple. Honey and sea sale are a wonderful combination for soap. Honey is an excellent moisturizer and sea salt detoxifies the skin. To see Marcy’s recipe, click on the How to Make Mediterranean Sea Salt & Honey Soap link below.
How to Make Mediterranean Sea Salt & Honey Soap (No Lye)
I too love making soap but with kids and pets the whole Lye thing scares me. I have sooo many soap pins but they are all for CP soap. Can I really adapt them to be used with melt and pour? What about superfatting?
Melt and pour soaps are easier because you start with a base like glycerine and don’t have to worry about lye. Lye also scares me 🙂 You can add scent and coloring agents to M&P soaps. This site mentions adding superfatting oil http://www.sudsandscents.com/meltandpourtips.htm Good luck!
